The development of public transportation should not increase air pollution in the country

The head of the National Weather and Climate Change Center in an interview with Moj news agency;

The head of the National Air and Climate Change Center said in response to the importation of second-class buses: We are looking for more welfare and comfort for the people, and the development of public transportation should lead to reducing air pollution, not increasing it.

Dariush Golalizadeh, head of the National Center for Weather and Climate Change, in an interview with the Moj news agency reporter about the import of second-class buses to the country, said: We have prevented the import of Euro 3 and Euro 4 buses and cars, and we want to, now that second class cars are being imported. The car should be of high quality. We are looking for more people’s welfare and comfort, and the development of public transportation should lead to that air pollution reduce, rather than add an additional burden on air pollution.

He stated that in the country’s 20-year document and in the horizon of 1404, the favorable environment is emphasized, and he continued: Both the car technology and fuel quality are very important for us. The country’s diesel buses do not have a particle filter (a part that prevents particles from escaping), and those that have them do not change it after the part’s life is over.

The head of the National Air and Climate Change Center emphasized: This part is consumable and must be replaced, and if not, the car will be removed from the Euro 5 or Euro 6 standard. Although replacing this part is expensive, the cost of air pollution to the country will be much higher.

Golalizadeh said: Our expectation is that domestically produced buses will continue to be in standard condition. In addition to the vehicle standard, equipment related to emissions and fuel quality is very important. If the car has high-sulfur diesel fuel, naturally, the soot absorbent filter will fail easily, and drivers will remove this part from the car in order to reduce the pressure on the engine.
