The director of “Angle” is making a film with Hollywood actors

Oscar-winning Korean director Bong Joon-ho brings his new Hollywood film project to the camera.
Theater News Base: Tony Colt and Mark Ruffalo, along with Naomi Aki, will star alongside Robert Pattinson in Bong Joon-ho’s next film, a film for which no title has yet been chosen but based on the novel Mickey 7. Will be made by Edward Ashton.
Bong Joon-ho is directing, writing and producing the film, and Brad Pitt’s Blan B is one of the producers.
The novel “Mickey 7” was released in February by McMillan-affiliated St. Martin Publishing, and while the film is set to be inspired by the novel, some sources have stated that the film version is based on Bong Joon-ho’s past experiences in adaptations. It may end up being different from the novel. The novel tells the story of Mickey 7, a disposable employee on a human voyage sent to colonize the ice age of Nifelheim. Whenever there is a very dangerous mission – even suicide – the crew turns to Mickey. After the death of a repetition, a new body is rebuilt with intact memory. After six deaths, Mickey “7” realizes the terms of his contract and understands why it was the only colonial position that no one was willing to hold.
This was the Korean director’s first project after the hugely successful film “Angle” in 2019 to become a global cultural phenomenon, breaking box office records around the world. After winning the Palme d’Or for Best Film at the Cannes Film Festival, “Engel” marked a historic night at the 92nd Academy Awards and became the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.
