The director of Iran’s National Cinema: a promise that came true/ increasing the credibility of the construction of Iran’s National Cinema

According to Fars news agency, Laden Taheri, director of Iran’s National Cinema, referring to the increase in the credibility of the construction of Iran’s National Cinema, explained the importance and role of this cinema in preserving and recording the country’s visual works in different eras. Providing all kinds of paper, visual and audio works and documents of the country (films, photos, posters), which is a major part of the cultural heritage of every land and every nation, is an effort towards continuity, development and promotion of the culture of that land and its people. Because films are among the main treasures of people’s identity and culture, and due to their duality in image and sound, they are rare sources of information for transmitting this precious heritage. Based on this, the amount of facilities and capacity of movie theaters is considered the most important part of the preservation process of these valuable treasures.
Referring to the lack of attention to the needs of the national cinema in the previous governments, he added: the difficult and complex process of preserving, maintaining and supplying audio-visual materials, as well as the importance of the development and expansion of this national archive, which was designed and built for a new and well-equipped building years ago It made it a necessity for Iran’s national cinema. The building, the design and construction of which started in 1371, but due to many reasons, or maybe some people did not pay attention to preserving the heritage of the past, or underestimated the importance of the film as a heritage and historical document, and of course, economic constraints and lack of sufficient budget allocation, so It progressed so slowly that none of the previous governments managed to complete, equip and open it.
Referring to the intrusive visit of the Honorable Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance along with Mohammad Khazaei, the Honorable Chairman of the Cinema Organization, on his first day of work, Taheri considered this as a cause of surprise and hope and said: the promises and orders of the Honorable Minister and the head of the organization regarding the completion and development This national building, as well as the provision of the necessary equipment for the cinema, which promised more attention from the government to the importance of protecting and preserving national documents and works, although very encouraging, financial limitations continued to cause concern.
He went on to express his satisfaction with the set of actions taken in the National Cinema in the 13th government and stated: Nevertheless, all cinema people, researchers of the country’s national documents and fans of Iranian cinema, today and after nearly a year of this meeting, They will surely be very happy and more hopeful than before if they know that not only the credit that was promised to complete the construction operations has been allocated to the movie theater, but it has also been increased until now and with a greater speed of construction operations and completion of the building. to continue
In the end, the director of Iran’s National Cinema stated: the passage of time has proven that it is not possible to save films except with national determination and cooperation, and no cinema in the world is capable without the comprehensive cooperation of governments, cinematographers, private sectors, non-governmental organizations and, of course, cooperation Those who are interested, continue their missions successfully. It will definitely be an auspicious event to continue this partnership and cooperation.
