The director of the Cinema Museum changed
By order of Mohammad Khazaei, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Chairman of the Cinema Organization and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cinema Museum, Majid Ismaili was appointed Director of the Cinema Museum.
Theater News Base: The text of the ruling of the new director of the Cinema Museum is as follows:
“Dear Mr. Majid Ismaili
In view of my commitment, managerial and scientific background, and theoretical and practical knowledge and aristocracy in the field of cinema, I appoint your Excellency as the Managing Director of the Cinema Museum. We hope that by taking advantage of all the valuable capacities and heritage of Iranian cinema and taking effective measures, you will provide the ground for transcendental changes in this cultural and social center.
The Cinema Museum is one of the important and strategic centers of the Cinema Organization’s transformation plan, whose missions in this period are as follows:
– Collection, protection and introduction of documents, documents and cinematic heritage
– Hosting international, thematic and specialized film weeks with the participation of other centers and institutions of the organization
– Attention to the visual cultural identity of the museum space
– Holding discourse and analytical meetings with the cooperation of the relevant deputies
– Planning to establish cooperation and specialized exchanges with domestic and foreign archives and museums
– Transforming the Cinema Museum into a cultural and cinematic hangout and holding a celebration of the veterans and celebrities of Iranian cinema
– Registration of oral history, development of studies and exchange of the history of Iranian cinema and encouragement of registration of cinematic and visual works
– Liaison with international and domestic museums and further cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism
– Digital development and modernization of the cinema museum in order to better display the heritage and memorabilia of cinematographers
– Collecting and maintaining all information, documents, documents, photographs, books, pamphlets, periodicals and occasional publications, movies, tools and equipment used in the production and screening of movies
– Creating suitable conditions and background for the development and completion and further enrichment of the museum.
– And the priorities that are expected to be achieved by effective cooperation and interaction with the archives, museums and activists of this sector and with the cooperation of relevant institutions, deputies and institutions of the cinema organization.

Majid Esmaili was born in 1971 and has a master’s degree from Imam Sadegh (AS) University. He is a producer, director and university professor who has been active in the field of production, screenwriting, directing and animation in cinema and television since the 1980s. Seventeen years of teaching experience in universities, plan and program management of the Narrative Foundation, CEO of Shahid Avini Cultural Institute, CEO of Imam Sadegh (AS) University Credit Institution, CEO of Avin Media Film Company, Director of Aseman Cultural Complex, Member of the Planning and Program Council of the Revolutionary Cinema Association and Holy Defense, member of the think tank, drafting the document of the Islamic Revolution Cinema, member of the think tank, reviewing the practical measures of the second step statement in the field of cinema, etc. are among his activities in the field of university and cultural and cinematic management. Ismaili has also directed and produced dozens of films, shorts and animations. His films as Red-breasted, Broken Heart, Jabbin, Africa, Prince of Persia, Smile of Light, Unfinished Lights, etc. are among his works. In his history, he has judged several film festivals, including Haghighat, Sama, Chehel Cheragh, Shahid Avini and Resistance Film Festivals.
