The entry of Iranian rice into the export markets/distraction of the rice farmers will come out of the recession

According to the economic correspondent of Fars News Agency, after the end of the rice harvesting season, many rice farmers and businessmen said that due to the stagnation of the Iranian rice market, their production was left and could not be bought. There were two main reasons, firstly, the high production cost caused even Selling at a price above 100,000 tomans does not have a profit margin for the farmer. Second, the high price last year kept some rice farmers waiting for higher prices, and because of this, the buying and selling of Iranian rice was stagnant.
In an interview with the economic correspondent of Fars news agency, Masih Keshavarz announced the beginning of the export of Iranian rice to Arab, American and Russian countries and added: Entering the rice export market from the perspective of international relations as well as quality and It needs a preliminary price, which fortunately has taken the first steps with the establishment of the rice export terminal in Mazandaran.
The Secretary of the Commission of Rice Importers and Suppliers of the Supreme Council of Imports added: The export is still not a significant figure, but its psychological burden can have a good impact on the stagnation of the Iranian rice market.
He added: Considering the amount of rice produced in the country, a part of the market’s needs must be met from imports, and of course, economic issues and the consumer’s purchasing power are also effective in this category, because the price gap between Iranian and imported rice is large, and the purchase of this The product is far from the reach of all sections of the society.
He continued: Since the beginning of the year, 1,200,000 tons of rice have been imported into the country, of which 950,000 tons were the share of the private sector, and another 400,000 tons should be imported.
The Secretary of the Commission of Rice Importers and Suppliers of the Supreme Council of Imports stated: Due to the disruption of the trade balance between the two countries of Iran and India, the import of rice from this country has been stopped for the time being and the rice needed by the country is imported from other sources such as Pakistan.
He expressed his hope that the businessmen of the friendly and Muslim country of Pakistan, with a long-term view, will use this opportunity to develop business relations and increase their share of the Iranian rice market and not move towards abusing the opportunity by increasing the price. Kurd: Currently, the price of the best Indian rice in the Iranian market is around 40,000 tomans, and due to the restrictions on Indian rice, the product imported from Pakistan reaches Iranian consumers with a slightly increased price of 50,000 tomans.
Emphasizing that supporting Iranian rice in various forms is the duty of all those active in the rice industry, Keshavarz added: Two years ago, when the dollar was 27,000 tomans, the price of each kilo of quality Iranian rice was 27,000 tomans.
Pointing out that unfortunately rice was not available to the farmers at that time and the brokers increased the price by three times, he said: Looking at the past experience, the farmers did not give the rice to the brokers thinking that they would benefit themselves.
The Secretary of the Commission of Rice Importers and Suppliers of the Supreme Council of Imports stated: Farmers should be aware that the Iranian rice market is in a state of stagnation and should move towards prosperity. First of all, one million and 200 thousand tons of rice imported, which has no effect on the Iranian rice market.
He continued: Another thing is that this year 700 thousand tons of rice have been produced in Gilan, one million tons in Mazandaran, 240 thousand tons in Golestan and a total of 400 thousand tons of rice in the central and southern provinces. It is available in a high amount and the pricing should be based on the amount of production and supply and the price cannot be increased under the excuse of shortage.
Keshavarz stated that due to the inflation prevailing in the country’s economy and the recession that has gripped the domestic rice market, farmers should provide the conditions for prosperity to return to this market by setting a reasonable price and profit. One thousand Tomans, Fajr 80 to 85 thousand Tomans, Shiroudi 55 to 60 thousand Tomans, Neda 50 to 55 thousand Tomans, Fajr 80 to 85 thousand Tomans, Shiroudi 55 to 60 thousand Tomans and Neda 50 to 55 thousand Tomans reach the consumer and in comparison It is 2 to 3 times higher than the price of foreign rice, and we have to guide the prices in a direction that meets the consumer society’s ability.
He added: “The price of Iranian rice is an important issue. With the entry of the private sector in a big way next year, we will witness good events in this area and large factories with a capacity of 100 thousand tons have been established, and rice should be imported into these factories.” Its final price is acceptable to the consumer.
In the end, the secretary of the commission of rice importers and suppliers of the Supreme Council of Imports said: the price of inputs should be available to the rice farmer at a low price, and with the mechanization of cultivation, the prices should be reduced, and on the other hand, in modern factories, rice should be harvested with minimum waste, and by combining these conditions, the price of the whole Iranian rice has decreased and become competitive.
