And this industrial complex, as the largest producer of heavy and ultra-heavy alloy steel forging and casting parts and sections, with capable specialists and advanced technology, has the ability to meet the strategic needs of the country’s industries in the sectors of oil and gas, power plant, shipbuilding and machine building, rail and It has mining and steel industries.

The nominal production capacity of this industrial complex before the opening of the development plan in April of this year is 80 thousand tons. With the opening of the development plan of this industrial complex on April 12, 1400, with the video conference order of the president, the nominal production capacity of this industrial unit increased to 120 thousand tons. . Sponge iron is one of the raw materials required for casting units, and this product is needed in the Sfrain Steel Industrial Complex for the production of alloy steel ingots.

Mehyar Meshaikhi, Deputy Director of Industries and Mines of North Khorasan General Department of Industry, Mining and Trade, said: “According to estimates, this province needs 800 thousand tons of sponge iron, but soon the need for this product will increase to 1.2 million tons. It will come.”

Stating that the construction of one of these sponge iron production units has 30% physical progress and another company has also been activated, he continued: “68 minerals have been identified in the country, 28 of which are also found in North Khorasan; A province which, considering its area and population is smaller compared to other provinces of the country, should be in a high position in terms of the percentage of benefit from minerals.

Despite these underground resources, only five million and 800 thousand tons of minerals are extracted annually from the mines of North Khorasan, and out of 250 registered mines, less than half of them are active and the rest are inactive.

Economic experts of North Khorasan also believe that private sector investment is the way to save dormant mines and eliminate brokers and middlemen, and they state that it is necessary to provide facilities and cooperation of banks in the province. However, benefiting from this capacity requires serious government intervention. Now, this important and fundamental task is the responsibility of the 13th government to transform the employment and livelihood of the people of the deprived province of North Khorasan by attracting investors.
