The Environment Agency has not allowed any power plant to burn fuel oil

According to Moj News Agency, Dariush Gol Alizadeh, deputy director of the National Center for Air and Climate Change of the Environmental Protection Agency, in a press conference held this morning, stressed that the Environment Organization has not allowed any power plant to burn fuel oil. The name of the unhealthy fuel units and the pursuit of legal rights, he said: “We have 16 heating power plants in the country, which are located in 14 provinces and have the possibility of consuming fuel oil.”
Referring to the provisions of the Clean Air Law, he said: “If we use fuel oil, according to the provisions of this law, power plants must install filters to use fuel oil and comply with the permitted limits.”
Gol Alizadeh stated that during the past years, 5 power plants in Tehran, Albar and Isfahan provinces were sealed due to non-compliance with the rules, and now Isfahan power plant has been sealed.
“Because our refineries are worn out, 24 percent of their final products are fuel oil, compared to 12 percent in the world’s refineries,” he said.
Gol Alizadeh reminded that according to the instructions of the Air Law, cabaret motorcycles will not be allowed to travel from next year.
The deputy director of the National Center for Air and Climate Change of the Environmental Protection Agency said: “There is no monitoring of the units that consume fuel oil and about 5% of the subscribers consume gas.”
Regarding the solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, he said: “The budget and environment program organization has presented solutions to reduce pollution in Assaluyeh, and it has been determined that by removing the flare and significantly reducing the amount of so2, we will have about 63%.”
