The European Union sanctions a number of Iranian judges – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by Reuters, Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Aselborn announced the imposition of EU sanctions against “dozens of Iranians, including judges of this country” under the pretext of their role in issuing death sentences for so-called “protesters”.

Before the European Union Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Brussels, Asselborn said: “Judges, prison staff, people who issue death sentences to others, dozens of them are on this (sanctions) list.”

Since the beginning of the recent unrest in Iran, European countries and the United States have imposed sanctions against Iranian authorities and institutions in an effort to keep the flames of unrest burning.
