The European Union seeks to save the nuclear talks with Iran – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell has said the bloc is trying to salvage talks on a nuclear deal with Iran, Mehr news agency reported, quoting Sputnik.

“The union is working to save the Burjam talks, which have been suspended due to the US reluctance to remove the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from the list of terrorist organizations,” Joseph Borrell told the Financial Times.

Borrell’s remarks came as news sources reported that Enrique Moo, the EU’s deputy foreign policy chief, would travel to Tehran on Tuesday to discuss a halt to nuclear talks.

Earlier, Joseph Borrell had said he would send his deputy to Tehran soon to find a solution to the Iran-US dispute, which has stalled talks on reviving Borjam.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, emphasized in his speech that the Vienna talks have not been stopped and are continuing through the exchange of written messages.

Amir Abdullahian added: “Our goal in these talks is to reach a strong and lasting agreement. We called on the American side to be realistic. “The lifting of sanctions in all areas and obtaining economic guarantees are among the most important items on our negotiating agenda.”

“I think the American side understands Iran’s red lines very well,” he concluded. We continue the dialogue. “Once our agreement is reached, our representative in the negotiations will make the final changes to the agreement.”
