The Expediency Council did not interfere in the revocation of the car import license

According to Eqtesad Online, quoted by ISNA, Seyyed Ghani Nazari in an oral remark in today’s public session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, citing Article 22 of the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure, said: According to the Rules of Procedure, It does not make sense without the opinion of the representatives.
The Islamic Consultative Assembly has a joint commission and opinions on the approvals must be obtained from the Assembly. The weakness of the country’s car industry has been talked about many times in the parliament and it is necessary to create competition in this market. Iran Khodro and Saipa should not be allowed to do whatever they want and deliver goods to the people.
He further stated: The resolution of the Islamic Consultative Assembly has been removed without taking the opinion of the deputies, while the import of cars is one of the demands of the people and the Iranian youth want to use it. But what do our young people lack that they should not have access to quality cars? On the other hand, there will be competition in the market with imports.
The representative of the people of Khalkhal and Kowsar in the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated: This is the assembly that only has to legislate and other constituencies do not have the right to enter the legislature. The elimination of car imports from the bill is a mistake of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. Neither the board of directors nor the joint commission can decide on this issue alone. This is a message to all MPs that the parliament should not be manipulated without our knowledge or that another institution should interfere in the legislation in parallel with the parliament. The status of the Expediency Council is clear and its duties are clear.
Ali Nikzad, who was in charge of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said in response to a theoretical remark: Do not provide the board of directors with the Guardian Council to review the issue so that it is resolved and the budget is not left on the ground. Contrary to what is thought, the Expediency Council’s oversight board has been implicated in this matter.
As it was said in the court of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Presidium and the Guardian Council made a decision in this regard according to the points raised, and the High Supervisory Board of the Expediency Council had no role in it.
