The Federal Court of Iraq postponed the hearing of the dissolution of the parliament

According to the report of Fars News Agency, an Iraqi judicial source announced the postponement of the request to dissolve the country’s parliament in the Federal Supreme Court.

Earlier, Seyyed Moqtadi Sadr, the leader of the Sadr movement, had requested the judicial system to intervene in order to dissolve the parliament within a week.
Previously, the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, while rejecting Sadr’s request to intervene in order to dissolve the parliament of this country, emphasized that there is no possibility of the Council’s intervention in this matter.
The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq added that the mechanism of dissolution of parliament is mentioned in Article 64 of the Constitution.
The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq also emphasized that the parliament can be dissolved by an absolute majority of members in only two ways; First at the request of one third of the parliament members and second at the request of the prime minister and the approval of the president.
