According to the Iran Economist report, citing the public relations of Cooperative Insurance, Mehdi Maskani, Deputy Cooperative of the Ministry of Labor, Cooperative and Social Welfare, while visiting the first event of “Coop Ted” dialogue-oriented meetings, which focuses on “Cooperative; “Economy Popularization” was held at Milad Tower, he sat by the words of the invited people and in the end he said: “I hope we will see more zealous activities with cooperatives”.

Cooperative insurance on the path of growth and excellence
Yunus Mazloumi, the CEO of Cooperative Insurance in this event with the theme “How can a cooperative be successful?” He spoke and said: I want to explain how a cooperative company managed to return to the path of growth.
Mazloumi continued: In 2016, Cooperative Insurance Company was in a situation where it was about to be liquidated due to the events that had happened to it, and Central Insurance had considered three scenarios for it: one is liquidation; Another is the suspension of activities until further notice and the third is to merge into one of the insurance companies.
Considering that this company operated as the only insurance company in the cooperative sector, all three scenarios represent an unpleasant event in this sector and were indicative of things that were not considered appropriate.
The CEO of Cooperative Insurance continued to explain: We came and started working, and even due to the lack of sufficient facilities, we had to attend the company’s prayer hall and hold meetings. Of course, the process of holding meetings is still in place and now a more suitable place has been considered for it.
Mazloumi added: I believe that instead of making decisions and telling others to do it, it is desirable to hold meetings with the executives themselves and they suggest the structure that they think is best for doing the work.
The CEO of Cooperative Insurance further stated: Since 2017, we sought to obtain standards in order to comply with the minimum principles and move towards excellence based on them, and the ISO system was also launched in the company by the colleagues themselves to have a more favorable effect. be
Mazloumi went on to say: “Now, by connecting the reward system to performance, we were able to strengthen our responsiveness and raise it to over 90%; We also survey all the people who hired us and evaluate our activity.
He added: On the other hand, since 2019, we have implemented the organizational excellence model in the company, and we believe that in order to be successful, we must meet the needs of all stakeholders. Accordingly, we stand with our customers, shareholders, business partners, community and employees.
Mazloumi also pointed to other activities of the company and said: In line with social responsibility, we started a karate team and in one instance, the women were able to win the league championship.
He further mentioned the statistics of the company and stated: We currently have 320 employees in 28 branches and the number of members of our sales network has reached 1700 people. Also, currently 28,700 policyholders benefit from cooperative insurance services.
In the end, the CEO of Cooperative Insurance stated: We also managed to appear in the OTC market as the first public cooperative company. Rather, it is the peace of mind of customers.
A purposeful system
Ahmad Nazari, CEO and member of the founding board of the Iranian Cooperative Board “Tesfa” was one of the other speakers of the event who stated: 1) lack of knowledge about the cooperative sector in cases such as “the existence of various types of cooperatives, the advantages and disadvantages of cooperative companies and different cooperative regulations Ha”, 2) changing the perspective towards cooperatives, 3) gaining trust, 4) solving existing conflicts were among the things that led us to start this collection.
He further stated that the mission of the group under his management is 1) increasing the return on members’ capital 2) meeting the needs of goods and services 3) continuity of work and production of members 4) international marketing and focusing on exports 5) using consultants and 6) Creating unity and empathy has been in increasing bargaining power.
Nazari also points out such things as 1) planning by considering indicators such as “needs prioritization, budgeting, gaining participation and opinion of members and stability in management” 2) correct management of stocks and capital by considering indicators such as “capital increase Regularly and continuously, increasing the shares only to the members of the guild, increasing the capital from the profit and cash income and dividing the profit within the legal limit” 3) Paying attention to human capital with indicators such as “respecting the principle of employee ownership, employee participation in the profit of the organization , providing in-service training” and 4) adhering to the ethical framework of the organization with indicators such as “transparency and financial discipline, attention to stakeholders, honesty and health, mutual respect” as factors of the success of the group under his management.
The role of equity cooperatives in development
Another presenter of this meeting was Dariush Pakbin, who gave a speech entitled “Cooperative sector and the role of equity cooperatives in the development of the popular economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran”.
In this speech, he mentioned the practical solutions for the development of the cooperative sector and stated: by “reducing the financial and managerial burden of the government in undertaking economic activities (the sixth goal of the general policies of Article 44) from being in the management of 49 companies, it has caused Improving the efficiency of economic enterprises and the productivity of material and human resources and technology (the third goal of the general policies of Article 44) and with the incomes of those companies, in each province directly by creating various production and industrial projects and… ., in addition to expanding ownership at the general level of the people in order to ensure social justice (the second goal of the general policies of Article 44), and increasing the share of private and cooperative sectors in the national economy (the fifth goal of the general policies of Article 44), increasing the level of public employment (the seventh goal of the general policies of Article 44) and encouraging people to save and invest and improve household income (the eighth goal of the general policies of Article 44).
He added: the results of the activities of provincial investment companies and county cooperatives, if the government and regulatory agencies look at the cooperative sector with a view to strengthening the economy, will accelerate the growth of the national economy (the first goal of the general policies of Article 44 ) and increasing competitiveness in the national economy (the fourth goal of the main general policies 44).

It should be noted that Mohsen Surah Tabar, acting deputy of coordination of economic affairs and regional development of the Ministry of Interior, as well as a group of country managers were present in this event.
