The first hundred bazaar of handicrafts was opened in the Art Garden of Abbas Abad



According to the Aria Heritage report, citing the General Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Seyed Hossein Alavi, Director General of the Office of Commercialization and Marketing of Handicrafts, said on the sidelines of the ceremony: “In the first step, we pursued this collaborative project with the cooperation of Tehran Municipality, which, thanks to God, we were able to complete today. Together with the dear artists of the country, let us witness the first gathering of Sadbazar in the lands of Abbas Abad.

He added: “We intend to witness its expansion and implementation throughout the country by strengthening Sadbazar in Tehran.” The naming of Sadbazar is due to the presence of more than a hundred handicraft stalls in this bazaar and also the word “hundred” stands for handicrafts.

Alavi continued: “Most of the producers of handicrafts are small producers and retailers and dear ones who make great works of art but do not have access to the facilities of direct market supply.”

Director General of Handicraft Marketing and Commercialization added: “The purpose of creating these bazaars is to facilitate the communication of handicraft producers and sellers with buyers and visitors, as well as direct supply of products at production prices to consumers.”

Alavi pointed out: “One of our important strategies in the field of sales is to support sales portals, especially bazaars and exhibitions, and dear artists did not pay a fee for attending and receiving a booth.”

This one-day market with the presence of artists from different provinces of the country in various fields of handicrafts such as pottery and ceramics, carpet weaving, felt, hand-stitched leather products, mat weaving, local clothes, etc., started working today in Abbasabad area of ​​Tehran.

This handicraft market will be held weekly on Thursdays with the aim of developing sales and supply places, promoting the culture of consumption of Iranian handicraft products, with the presence of artists and artisans of the country, and with the planning and supervision of the Deputy of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts of this Ministry.
