The first music theater concert will be held

Charso Press: Saeed Menthi, the chairman of the board of directors of this association, announced that this concert will be held on Thursday, July 15, in two sections in the theater building.

He explained about the details of this program: The Theater Music Association has invited two groups to perform in the first round of its concerts. In the first part of the program, works from the life of Ebrahim Naftani, the former president of the association, will be performed by the “Wasl Yar” group headed by Amjad Ebrahimi, sung by Mustafa Mahmoudi and arranged by Hamed Ebrahimi.

In this performance, the musicians are as follows:

Rosemary Isapour (soprano), Richard Isapour (tenor), Hamed Ebrahimi (fiddle), Hossein Ghasemzadeh (reeds, dulcimer), Amjad Ebrahimi (daf, tas), Sahar Safari (tambak, bandir, daf), Tarakh Ebrahimi (tambour). , Bam Tar).

He also said about the second part of the program: In the second part of the program, theater composer Farshad Fazoni will perform electronic music in the form of experimental music along with Jubin Asgaria (didgeridoo player).

Mendi added: The main focus of these concerts is the promotion and performance of dramatic music, and in these programs, pieces that were created and performed for professional theaters are performed.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Theater Music considered one of the goals of this association to be the revival and expansion of theater music and added: Theater music, like the theater itself, is forgotten after a while, while film music is usually more lasting. Our goal is to revive theater music with such programs and in line with this goal, we plan to hold a series of theater music concerts, the first of which will be held on July 15.

Mendi also emphasized that the theater music concert is significantly different from the “theatre-concert” or “show-concert” which is performed from time to time and has never been held in Iran.

Stating that this program does not have a lecture in the conventional sense, he continued: Before performing each piece, the performers provide explanations about that particular piece.

Mendi explained about the main audience of these performances: Theater and music enthusiasts are among the main audience of this program. In addition, these concerts will be attractive to theater music specialists and theater friends who want to follow music from a dramatic perspective.

Expressing his regret that the theater music could not be published in the form of independent music and generate income, this composer continued: To compensate for this gap last year, we had meetings with the performing arts center and the music center, and events were supposed to take place due to the social events of the year. In the past, it remained silent, but we are starting this movement with a series of theater music concerts, and we hope that it will be an opportunity for investors and those involved to be encouraged to publish theater music, so that this issue is not necessarily pursued in the public sector.
