According to Fars News Agency’s Foreign Policy Group, the first regional cooperation meeting called the P5 + 1 format consists of three South Caucasus countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia) and three neighboring countries, including Russia, Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Assistant Secretary of State and Director General of Eurasia called the regional cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, economy, transport and transit, a significant contribution to the growth and development of the region, as well as the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region.

Haghighiyan in this meeting, while supporting cooperation in the mentioned format, stressed the need to respect the territorial integrity of countries and avoid any geopolitical changes in the region.

It should be noted that the Georgian representative was not present at the meeting.

According to Fars, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rodenko and his Turkish counterpart Sadat Onal recently stressed the importance of a speedy start of the 3 + 3 negotiation mechanism (Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Turkey) for the South Caucasus. Had emphasized.
