The Galaxy Note 9 will no longer receive new updates


Samsung announced another new software update for the phone Galaxy Note 9 will not publish On its website, the tech giant has listed the names of the devices that will be actively supported, and although newer phones like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 are listed, there is no mention of the Galaxy Note 9.

According to the report SamMobileHowever, Samsung doesn’t even release security updates for the Galaxy Note 9. This phone was launched four years ago in August 2018, when it was released with Android 8.1 Oreo. Samsung released Android 9 update in 2019 and One UI 2.5 update based on Android 10 in 2020. Further, the phone received security updates every three months.

Galaxy Note 10 updates are also limited!

The South Korea-based tech giant has also decided to roll out seasonal updates for the Galaxy Note 10 series. The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus used to receive monthly security updates. However, Samsung now plans to release this update to phones every three months. Two Galaxy Note 10 series devices were released in August 2019 with Android 9.

The Galaxy Note 10 series received the Android 10 update in early 2020, followed by Android 11-based One UI 3 in early 2021. Further, the One UI 4 update based on Android 12 was released for them earlier this year, and they will not receive the Android 13 update.

In this regard, Samsung recently started rolling out Android 12L to its previous generations of foldable phones, with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 being the first devices to receive the Android 12L update.
