The Galaxy S24 camera can be turned into a computer webcam

Samsung has introduced a new feature that turns the mobile phone camera into a high-quality webcam. Despite this feature, you can use your mobile phone as a webcam on platforms such as Microsoft Teams and apply special effects such as automatic framing and background blur to the image. Although it is not clear exactly which devices will receive this feature, but the series Galaxy S24 supports it.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will be introduced at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, which will be held on December 27 at 21:30 Tehran time. While the specifications of the series were recently revealed in full, the Korean giant also hinted at some of the AI-focused advancements of its upcoming flagships at the CES 2024 event.

Jonathan Gabrio, head of Samsung’s Connected Experience Center, explains:
“For the first time with our new flagships, users can take advantage of the incredible camera resolution of their Galaxy smartphones to enhance business meetings in services like Microsoft Teams.”

Previously, there was an option to use the camera as a webcam in the settings menu of ONE UI 6 Beta 3, but there was no way to enable it. However, this feature was not present in the later beta version. Samsung seems to be testing the camera’s ability to be used as a webcam before introducing it as a long-term exclusive feature for the Galaxy S24 phones.
As we said, this feature will be limited to the Galaxy S24 series phones, which means it will be available to other devices after some time, although the exact time and which devices will get this feature is still unknown.
