The government’s move to publish the names of bank debtors is commendable

“Talking to the Iran Economist about the publication of the names of super-bank debtors and the emphasis of the 13th government in this regard,” Albert Baghzian said: “The publication of the names of bank debtors should not only be in the list, but also their status should be considered.”

He added: “Now the Ministry of Economy and the Judiciary must intervene in dealing with these debtors and violators.” Influential people are still on the board of directors of banks, which prevents them from dealing with debtors.

Bank debtors received large facilities that they did not repay

The professor of economics at the University of Tehran said that this business of bank debtors will continue until the Central Bank, the Ministry of Economy and the Judiciary deal with this issue. Rather, in the way of brokerage, they have bought and sold land and damaged the Iranian economy.

Baghzian stressed the banking system’s treatment of debtors and continued: “If the payment of a loan installment of an employee or ordinary person who borrows is delayed, the bank will contact his guarantors or block the bank salary or collateral, while This is not the case for large bank debtors.

He stated: The bank debtors who receive large facilities took these facilities with the intention of not repaying them and did not even offer guarantees or collateral, otherwise the banks would have taken action and would not have waited these days.

Dealing with bank debtors should not be stopped at this stage

The economist said: “Why hasn’t the banking system or the central bank monitored the situation of debtors and lending facilities in recent years, and why has the judiciary not handled complaints? And why did they allow the payment of such loans without guarantees?”

“Banks are obliged to repay debts,” Baghzian said. “Banks are obliged to repay debts. Until the money is returned to the banks, one can not expect to pay for facilities to create employment and investment.”

He pointed out: Now the Ministry of Economy and the Central Bank have forced the banks to publish the names of the debtors, while the banks were not interested; Of course, dealing with bank debtors should not be stopped at this stage, but these people should be dealt with legally and the money should be returned to the banking system.
