The hostile proposal of the European Parliament against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr news agency, quoted by I24, the European Parliament voted today Wednesday to put the IRGC on the terrorist list.

According to this media, the representatives of the European Parliament voted this morning (local time) in a vote with the presence of 638 representatives, the said proposal to the European Union.

Accordingly, this proposal was approved with 598 positive votes against 9 against and 31 abstentions.

This vote is a proposal of the European Parliament to the European Union and is not binding.

Iran has already warned the European Union in this regard.

Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, yesterday Tuesday on the sidelines of the Davos meeting, took an interventionist stance and told reporters: Iran’s government violates basic human rights!

The head of the European Commission, with the role of international laws in the necessity of non-interference in the internal affairs of independent countries, claimed in this regard: We are actually looking for a new round of sanctions against them, and I also support the inclusion of the Revolutionary Guards in the list of terrorist organizations. I do!

British Deputy Foreign Minister Leo Docherty said last Thursday in the country’s parliament that Britain is actively considering sanctioning Iran’s Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization, although it has not yet reached a final decision.

Docherty said during the discussions about Iran’s situation in the British House of Commons, during which some lawmakers called for a legal ban on the Revolutionary Guards: “It would be wrong to speculate on the outcome of the government’s actions on this issue, as nothing has yet happened.” The complete and finalized form is not known.

Previously, the similar action of the United States against the Revolutionary Guards during the Trump administration faced widespread reactions in the region, and among others, Syrian and Iraqi government officials strongly rejected Washington’s plan against the Revolutionary Guards.

On the other hand, it seems that there are deep differences of opinion in many Western countries to take measures against the Revolutionary Guards, and many politicians in Europe are still not willing to go along with Washington’s anti-Iranian plans.

The truth is that the role of the Revolutionary Guards in fighting against terrorists is recognized by many European and Western authorities, and any action by the West to declare the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist actually contradicts their claims about fighting against terrorists.
