The importance of “Yalda” is to honor the elders and the period of families/ the media should contribute to the well-being of the people by reflecting the current events.

According to the reporter of Arya Heritage, Ali Darabi, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, said at the joint meeting of the Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and the Council of Public Culture on the topic of World Yalda: The Council of Public Culture of the country is as old as the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, and the formation of this council is at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior. And then in the provinces and cities, it was a response to the needs raised.
In this context, it is important to name cities, streets, places and supervise the construction and installation of statues and monuments and their preservation and revival.
He continued: “Governance will be successful if it can go towards the participation of citizens and can increase social solidarity by producing happiness and social satisfaction.”
Darabi further stated: There have been great peaks in our Iranian tradition, which have a special place next to our religious ceremonies such as Nowruz and Yalda. This year, with the efforts of all the cultural heritage workers and our colleagues at Yusenko, we managed to register four important cases globally. Also in the year when we didn’t have a quota to register because last year we registered the calligraphy file.
The Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts continued: Iran has 35,000 registered works of which we are proud. Iran is a beautiful and amazing country and has a historical greatness dating back 7 thousand years.
Referring to the registered works, he said: We have registered 26 concrete works so far, although there is no competition in the field of cultural heritage to give us a rank in the world, but since there is a significant relationship between the registration of works There is a world with attracting tourists, we should try to do more.
He further stated: We registered 17 works among the works that were registered in the field of intangible heritage, and this year, with our four registered works, this number reached 21 works of world registration and we had a global ranking. There were nearly 38 cases in the UNESCO meeting, of which 4 cases were registered for Iran and we were able to get the sixth rank for Iran in the world.
Darabi further added: The place and importance of Yalda and its connection with nature, lighting, the beginning of the winter season, Shahnameh, Hafez, honoring the elders and the period of families are not hidden from us. Yalda is basically a family-oriented night celebration and this is important for us Iranians who respect our parents and elders as well as preserve our cultural heritage.
He further stated: We have nearly 150 world and national heritage bases in the country, and out of 800 museums in the country, 300 are owned by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the rest are private sector. This is a great capacity to be able to hold large and public events. In the last ten days, environmental advertising by the Tehran Municipality about Iran’s landmarks has increased the heritage literacy of the people regarding their historical monuments and historical attractions, and this case should also be implemented in the provinces so that the people in the provinces are also familiar with the attractions. Get to know Iran more.
The Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage also added: We have powerful media that can contribute to the solidarity and well-being of the people of the society by reflecting the current events.
He also said about holding a celebration to observe Nowruz: As you know, last year, many people in Shiraz’s Hafizeh handed over their year. Based on this, we planned to prepare a special program for Nowruz next year, God willing, because we have a duty to take advantage of these opportunities to protect the country’s cultural heritage.
He added: God willing, this meeting will be the beginning of continuous and periodic meetings. Guidance and cultural heritage are neighbors next to each other, and God willing, we can be a good servant to the people by cooperating and empathizing with each other.
Darabi continued: One of the points that UNESCO reminds countries is that if you register your works, what will happen to their preservation? I ask my friends to prepare action plans from now on so that we can hold a grand celebration in the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Guidance and in all cities and villages on the occasion of the global registration of Yalda.
The Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention is not a place for competition and superiority between countries
In the continuation of this meeting, “Mustafa Pourali”, the General Director of the Registration and Protection of Antiquities and the Preservation and Restoration of Spiritual and Natural Heritage, said: Iran for the first time in a year when there was no national quota, succeeded in registering a multinational case, and we succeeded. Register the largest number of cases in one meeting. That is, among the 180 countries that are members of the convention, Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan were able to register four elements each.
He also said about the issues that have arisen regarding the registration of the wrestling case in UNESCO: regardless of the fact that 12 years ago we registered this case in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO, and it is a confirmation of the origin and historical importance of this case for us Iranians, but this clarification is necessary. is that the intangible cultural heritage convention is not a matter of competition and superiority between countries.
He continued: If we put ourselves in the shoes of UNESCO, we should look at the issue from this point of view. For example, the mourning of Imam Hussain (AS) started in Karbala and Iraq, but today magnificent mournings are also held in Yazd and other cities of Iran. Therefore, UNESCO cannot say that it does not record any mourning and only records the mourning of Imam Hussain (AS) in Iraq and Karbala.
Pourali added: Basically, to expect UNESCO to register an intangible cultural element by a country is an unprofessional expectation.
Also, in this specialized meeting, Babaei, the secretary of the social welfare camp of the General Culture Council, also gave a speech.
