He continued: Iran has covered about 500 billion euros of the country’s assets in the insurance industry in the field of various risks, the insurance penetration rate in Iran has reached 2% and the per capita insurance premium in Iran is 323 dollars, which, of course, is low compared to the global rate. However, the insurance penetration rate in the Middle East region is 1.7% and the per capita insurance premium is 163 dollars, so Iran’s insurance penetration rate and per capita rate is higher than the region.

He stated: Last year, the insurance industry produced 115 thousand billion tomans in insurance premiums, of which 65 thousand billion tomans were paid for damages, and the rest was spent as economic reserves and investments.

He stated: The insurance premiums received in the 7 months of this year have grown by 62% compared to the same period last year and reached 97 thousand billion tomans.

According to the head of Iran’s Central Insurance, last year 25 million vehicles and their drivers were covered by insurance, and more than 1 million 467 thousand cases of damages worth 23 thousand billion Tomans were paid, as well as 3660 billion Tomans for physical damage. The cause of the accident and those who fled from the scene of the accident were paid by the insurance industry.

He stated that in the past 10 years, we had 3.7 thousand billion tomans in direct payment damages, the value of which reaches 15 thousand billion tomans, and added: Also, 217 thousand people bought supplementary insurance and received 22 thousand billion tomans in damages in this field. 10% of the received insurance premium is allocated to the Ministry of Health and Medicine for the treatment of traffic accident victims.

According to Behzadpour, in the last 10 years, the number of people who bought life insurance policies has reached 28 million people, and there were 140 thousand billion Tomans in insurance reserves in the country by the end of last year, and 123 thousand billion Tomans by the insurance industry in the economy by the end of last year. It is an invested country whose daily value has reached 163 thousand billion tomans.

The head of Iran’s Central Insurance also pointed to the issue of dealing with sanctions and said: the insurance industry has covered all the country’s sea, air and land transportation fleets under the conditions of international sanctions.

He also announced the establishment of a personal injury fund in the country after 15 years and said: “Last year, the government allocated 2500 billion tomans to this fund and now its capital has increased to 5200 billion tomans.”

According to him, the activity license for three reinsurance companies and two life insurance companies is one of the actions of this industry, and also a system to detect fraud based on artificial intelligence has been designed.
