The ineffectiveness of sanctions on the import of agricultural inputs/distributed fertilizers in the agricultural sector is not proportionate

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Importers of Iranian Poisons and Fertilizers added: “Unfortunately, the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad has not had the standards required to check the quality of these poisons for a couple of years.
He said: We believe that in addition to imported inputs, domestic production should also be of excellent quality and allow the farmer to make his own choice because the farmer knows how effective quality inputs are in their production.
In response to another question from Fars reporter, Hosseini said that after the Russia-Ukraine war, exporting countries have become more limited, has it had an effect on your imports? He said: We import from various countries, from India and China to European countries, and it has not caused any disruption in our work.
* We bypassed the sanctions
The chairman of the board of directors of importers of poisons and fertilizers in Iran added: “We even bypassed the sanctions at a point of the year when it was close to the wheat growing season, and we imported the necessary money with suitcases.”
In response to another question from Fars reporter that some experts believe that it is difficult to control the effective substance and its effectiveness in imported poisons and it is better to formulate it inside the country, he said: The companies we import are all famous and the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture can all to control them and we are also looking for such a thing so that our farmers can be fully assured of the quality of the product.

* Fertilizer distribution in the country is not appropriate
In the continuation of this meeting, Kianoosh Kalhor, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iran Poisons and Fertilizers Producers Association, stating that the country’s standard requirement of fertilizer is 5 million tons, said: Last year, 2.8 million tons of fertilizer were distributed in the country, of which 2.2 million tons were urea fertilizer. Meanwhile, there should be a balance between fertilizers and it is not observed.
Expressing the effect of the appropriateness and quality of fertilizer in increasing agricultural production, he said: With a suitable fertilizer, the average production of tomatoes per hectare can be increased to 250 tons, but very little production is done in the country, so our slogan is quality.
In this meeting, it was announced that the 9th specialized exhibition of agricultural inputs in Tehran will be held on January 13-16 at the permanent center of Iran Mall International Exhibitions in an area of over 7000 square meters.
In this exhibition, 95 companies of importers, manufacturers, herbal medicine clinics of world-renowned brands from Europe and East Asia will be exhibited for the development of the agricultural industry.
