The interbank interest rate increased to 21.31%

According to Iran Economist, the interbank interest rate as one of the types of interest rates in the money market gives direction to interest rates in other markets.
In fact, this rate is the price of banks’ reserves, and when they have a reserve deficit at the end of the short-term financial period, either daily or weekly, they borrow from other banks in the interbank market or from the central bank.
In the latest announcement of the interbank interest rate by the Central Bank, this rate has increased by 17 percent to 21.31 percent.
Therefore, according to the report, economic experts believe that the increase in the interbank interest rate is an important factor for curbing inflation and reducing inflationary expectations. On the other hand, capital market experts consider this policy as the cause of money withdrawal from the capital market and consider it an anti-stock market policy.
