The International Atomic Energy Agency has become seriously politicized Iran and world’s news

Mehr News Agency, International Group – Zahra Mirzafarjooyan: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors on Wednesday passed a resolution accusing Iran of not cooperating with the UN nuclear watchdog. The anti-Iranian resolution was presented by Western powers.

Tehran had warned that it would reconsider its cooperation with the IAEA if the anti-Iranian resolution was approved by the IAEA Board of Governors. Iran believes that Western powers have turned the International Atomic Energy Agency into a political entity, which calls into question the organization’s technical credibility.

Following the passage of an anti-Iran resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors, Iran on Thursday called the draft resolution an incorrect and unconstructive political move.

“Iran has always had constructive cooperation with the IAEA over the years, and an important part of the IAEA’s inspections in Iran confirms that it currently has the most transparent nuclear program among the IAEA member states,” the statement said.

“Unfortunately, the International Atomic Energy Agency, like many other ostensibly international bodies that have the potential to bring oversight and balance to international relations, has become highly politicized,” US geopolitical researcher Brian Berletic told Mehr. The IAEA resolution was actually introduced by the United States and its allies after years of pessimistic negotiations between Washington and Iran.

Referring to the US unilateral withdrawal from the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan (CJAP) in 2018, he added: “Iran continued its commitments in the hope of the US returning to the negotiating table in the new US administration.” Not only has this not happened as expected, but the United States is now taking steps that could permanently turn the nature of the negotiations into hostility. The recent resolution is a worrying step in this direction.

“The IAEA is under the influence of a US-led bloc, and only Russia and China will vote against the resolution,” Berletik said. Also, as expected, by presenting this resolution, the United States is trying to put the blame for the failure of the nuclear deal on Iran.

He added: “Israel is, of course, an important part of this process, because it has been militarily chosen by American policymakers to lead regional aggression against Iran, while the United States has sought to further isolate Iran politically and economically.” , Justifies politically.
