The Iranian oil tanker was transferred to a port in Greece – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, quoted by Reuters, the oil tanker under the flag of the Islamic Republic, which was previously seized by Greece, was transferred to the port of Piraeus.
Reuters news agency wrote in this regard that the Greek Coast Guard officials announced this Saturday that the Iranian-flagged oil tanker, which was seized by Greece in April, was transferred to Piraeus port a few hours ago.
Reuters quoted informed Greek officials as saying that the tanker Lana left Karistos at around 6:30 in the morning and will arrive in Piraeus around 10:00 at night.
The Iranian-flagged Lana oil tanker had been anchored near the Greek island of Oia for more than 2 months. Before this, Greece released the Russian tanker carrying Iranian oil, which it had seized two months ago at the request of the American judicial system. The Greek authorities seized this ship, which was carrying 115,000 tons of Iranian oil, on April 19 near the island of Euboea.
The United States imposed sanctions on Iran following the decision of former President Donald Trump to unilaterally withdraw from the JCPOA (along with the violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231). Iran’s oil export embargo is one of these sanctions.
While strongly protesting the seizure of this oil tanker, Tehran asked the International Maritime Organization to consult with the Greek authorities about this.
Following Tehran’s protests, a court in Greece ordered the return of seized oil to Iran on June 19; But a few days later, a new court temporarily banned the tanker’s departure following a request from a Greek spare parts company that demanded money for providing special services to the tanker.
