According to the Mehr news agency, quoting Al-Furat News, the secretariat of the Iraqi cabinet explained the recent decision of the cabinet to provide financial facilities to the Ministry of Electricity to pay gas claims to Iran.

According to the report, a statement from the Iraqi Cabinet Secretariat states: The Cabinet decided to provide financial facilities (loans) to the State Regional Energy Generation Company of the Central Region and the State Electricity Generation Company of the Southern Region (1,649,253). 045) to pay the Iranian debt for gas exports until this amount is returned to the bank when the food security law or the country’s budget law is approved.

According to the statement, the administration of the cabinet and the committees in the secretariat of the cabinet will be responsible for following up this decision in coordination with other relevant institutions.

While Iraqi political groups have not yet been able to agree on a new government, the Iraqi government, led by Mustafa al-Kadhimi, is trying to pass a food security law authorizing the allocation of funds to some urgent sectors, including the payment of food baskets to citizens. , Pay the debt for gas imports from Iran on the eve of the summer season and things like that.
