According to Mehr reporter, the guests of this week’s “Cultural Conversation” program of Radio Diavogu talked about the reasons for the decline in the quality of TV series of the Home Show network. This program was aired on radio talk show with the topic of “Reasons for the decline in the quality of home show network series” and Reza Mohaghegh, a producer of cinema and home show series, Hadi Momeni, a researcher, and Mojtaba Barzegar, a media expert, were the guests of this program.
At the beginning of the program, Reza Mohaghegh, the producer of “Aqrab Ashegh” said about the production of this series: When we started making this series, we had a series of complications in the field of content and connecting the audience with it. This series was a difficult work in terms of production. Every series has different strengths and weaknesses, and “Aqrab Ashagh” is no exception to this rule. This series had a new theme and had never been done in Iran before. Although it has some weaknesses, some audiences connected with it and this series had a steady audience.
He continued: In the field of serialization, we cannot limit the works to only one specific genre and look for one type of audience. We must be able to produce cultural and artistic work for all sections of society.
In the continuation of the program, Momeni said about the performance of the home show in the last one year: from the beginning of the year until now, that is, since the end of the “Lion Skin” series, we have seen almost no attractive work that was created by the platforms and could bring different audiences with them. . Even a series like “Zhumkari”, which attracted the attention of the audience in the first season, disappointed everyone in the second season.
He added: The way to deal with this issue is important. One approach can be like the “Control Room” program of Channel Five, which has a completely critical and even opposing view of Satra as a sub-category of radio and television, and for this reason, it is thought that this program was produced somewhere outside of radio and television, and only for Channel Five is offered to broadcast it, but on the other hand, we can follow the criticism with an academic view. In fact, it means how far a work has been successful and where it has failed. In this sense, we can say that we had successful series and examine the reasons for their success.
Mohaghegh also said about the creation of taste in the home television network: We produce products for the cultural market and audience of the platforms. In what direction have we taken the audience’s taste? The approaches indicate a kind of business, while business should serve culture and art, not art in the service of business. But it is impossible to understand what the policies are based on?
He added: Currently, the home show has a lack of stories, which is the reason for the decline in the quality of the series of the home show network, while some critics insist that the reason for the decline in quality is the financial interests of the platforms, which is not correct.
Barzegar, who was the telephone expert of this program, stated: Some people criticize the content of the television, which has nothing to offer; If TV has nothing to offer, at least it’s just the audience’s time being wasted, but home viewing platforms aren’t worth the audience’s time and money. The audience is waiting for the second season of “Zhorm Kari 2”, but now that it has been published, we see that it does not have a script at all and wants to keep the series by abusing the actor. We have no shortage of such series.
This media expert added: Satra, as a regulatory body, has sometimes made good contributions in this field and has prevented some events from happening. Satra is expected to remove the gap between television and home network and not give license to a series that does not have a strong script.
Momeni also stated in the final part of his speech: As a researcher, when I see these last 2 years, I realize that Satra had an intelligent arrangement in these 2 years and interacted with the director and producer as much as he could and got good results such as The “Lion Skin” series has been successful, but the issue is that now the level of people’s expectations from Satra has increased compared to the past.
