The largest cruise ship in the world started its journey
According to Aria’s heritage report, the Icon of the Seas cruise ship, with a height of 365 meters and a weight of 250,800 tons, started its work with 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew members.
The construction of this giant ship was finished in Finland and it was tested in open water for the first time, and its main engines, hull, braking systems, rudder, noise and vibration were examined.
The managers of this project said that from the beginning, this ship was supposed to be suitable for families to spend their vacations, and for this reason, a lot of time and energy was spent on making the space comfortable. Three thousand workers have been hired to build this ship.
With more than 40 places to eat and drink, seven swimming pools, a water park with six slides, and a luxurious three-story bedroom for $75,000, passengers on this ship can enjoy luxurious amenities for a week. For low-income passengers, this ship has also provided 2,804 guest cabins.
Although this huge ship has plenty of bedrooms, vacationing on this massive floating resort won’t come cheap. The lowest-cost cruise in 2024 starts at $1,820 per person for seven nights in an inside stateroom.
