The last remaining generation of traditional Iranian journalists is coming to the documentary network – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr news agency, citing the public relations of the documentary network, “And But Named” produced and directed by Seyed Javad Mirhashmi, the new production of the Sima Documentary Network, will be broadcast on Tuesday, March 2, at 21:00.
Mirhashmi said about this documentary: “And But Named” is a character documentary about the journey in the life and scientific and cultural services of Mohammad Islam Panah, known as Mullah Mohammad Hossein Sahaf Kermani, who is one of the well-known and outstanding cultural personalities of our country. Not long ago, he was recognized as the intangible heritage of Iran. He is almost one of the last people in Iran who does binding in a traditional way; That is, instead of using factory leathers, it works with handmade leathers.
He added: He was a contemporary of lasting figures such as Homayoun Saneti, Iraj Afshar, the ancient master of Parisi, etc., whose sweet memories of living with them are included in parts of the documentary. Mullah Sahaf Kermani is an educated person; He has many books and articles, one of his most prominent books is called “Inscriptions and Epitaphs of Kerman”. In this book, he has photographed all the inscriptions and stone inscriptions of Kerman since his youth and compiled and explained them in a book format on the advice of Zindayad Iraj Afshar.
This documentary maker said: One of the remarkable points about this character is that he has 2 bachelor’s degrees and is a water engineer, but due to his interest and his job (after retirement), which is bookbinding, he chose the title of Mullah according to the tradition of the predecessors and scholars. During a period in Sistan and Baluchistan and Khorasan, they called Sahafans by the title “mullah”, because they said that they read all the books.
Mirhashmi explained about the production process of this work and added: The filming of this documentary took nearly 12 years, it started in 1989 and the last filming session was this summer. Of course, the production process was not continuous and due to the professor’s illness, especially in the last 3-4 years and the corona epidemic, we moved at a slower speed. The original version of the film is 120 minutes long, but the televised version is 83 minutes long.
