According to the Mehr correspondent, Mohammad Hossein Mohebbi, the head of the Kermanshah Province Wrestling Board, recently announced that he would seek to host the Throne Cup competitions if the conditions and support of the governorate are provided. The wrestling veteran referred to the successful history of hosting several Throne Cups in Kermanshah and said that Kermanshah has proven that it has enough experience and facilities to host this international event again.
On the other hand, Asgari Mohammadian, the head of Mazandaran Wrestling Board, pointed to the province’s readiness to host the Throne Cup and said: “In recent days, with the official request of the Wrestling Federation, we will announce our readiness to host the Throne Cup.”
It is said that one of the reasons for expressing the desire and announcing the readiness of Kermanshah and Mazandaran provinces to host the Takhti Cup is that this tournament is considered as one of the stages of the selection cycle of the national freestyle wrestling team.
Of course, the time of holding the Throne Cup has not been announced by the Wrestling Federation yet, but this international tournament will probably be held in May or June next year.
Meanwhile, the Takhti Cup wrestling competitions will be held in Ahvaz from March 24 to 29, which is the third stage of the national team selection cycle.
