According to the financial news report, citing the public relations and international affairs of the Insurance Research Institute, this meeting was attended by Mohammad Mehdi Asgari, the head of the Insurance Research Institute, Murad Akbalik, the head of Marmara University’s Banking and Insurance Institute, Abdul Qadir Attar, associate professor, and the vice president of the Banking and Insurance Institute, Zain El Abdin Hayat Daneshiar. and international relations coordinator, was held.

At the beginning of this meeting, Asgari introduced the insurance research institute and the history of the research institute’s interactions with Marmara University and requested to send the educational plan and the conditions for accepting candidates from Iran’s insurance industry to study in the master’s and doctoral degrees of this university.

The presence of the academic staff members of the Insurance Research Institute in the study opportunity period of Marmara University, the joint scientific collaborations of the academic staff members of the two groups and the implementation of joint research projects in the fields of insurance, mathematics, insurance statistics, banking and other fields related to insurance, publishing joint articles, sending scholars of the research institute Insurance for participating in the doctoral course of Business Administration (DBA) of Marmara University was also one of the other areas of cooperation between the two institutions, which was proposed by the head of the Insurance Research Institute.

The head of the Insurance Research Institute also pointed to the annual insurance and development conference held by the Insurance Research Institute and invited Marmara University faculty members to present papers and hold a follow-up workshop for Iran’s insurance industry managers at this year’s conference. Due to the sanctions imposed against Iran in the past years, the international communication of the insurance industry with other countries had faced fundamental challenges, and with the follow-ups carried out in the last year by the Insurance Research Institute, these communications have been resumed and now the necessary preparations are being made to expand cooperation. International cooperation with neighboring countries, especially Turkey, is available. In this way, the Insurance Research Institute is ready to host the professors of the Institute of Banking and Insurance of Marmara University in Turkey to hold online training workshops for Iran’s insurance industry managers in various fields. He also announced the readiness of the Insurance Research Institute to send managers of Iran’s insurance industry to Marmara University and participate in face-to-face training courses of this center.

In response to the questions raised regarding the situation of insurance, Islamic banking and takaful in Iran, Asgari clarified; All banks active in Iran’s banking industry are Islamic, and takaful has been launched in Iran’s insurance industry since last year.

The head of the Insurance Research Institute, while referring to the transfer of the task of verifying the professional qualification of Iran’s insurance industry managers to the Insurance Research Institute, referred to his recent meeting with the President of Iran and added; In line with the president’s order to expand the international relations of the insurance industry, interactions with international institutions and universities active in the field of conventional insurance, takaful and Islamic finance have been put on the agenda of the insurance research institute, and in the near future, takaful laws will be approved by the Islamic Council of Iran. will arrive

Asgari pointed to the holding of a series of Takaful webinars in collaboration with the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) and added that the Insurance Research Institute is ready to hold a series of similar webinars in various fields of insurance, risk management and actuarial in collaboration with Marmara University of Turkey.

In the continuation of this meeting, Murad Akbalik, the head of Marmara University’s Banking and Insurance Institute, announced the institution’s readiness for any cooperation with the Insurance Research Institute, the readiness of this center to hold a doctoral course in business management (DBA), holding a study opportunity course for board members. The academician of the Insurance Research Institute announced the holding of face-to-face and online training courses and the presentation of internationally valid certificates, the participation of academic staff members of Marmara University in this year’s insurance and development conference, and the holding of post-event workshops.

Murad Akbalik also pointed to Turkey’s 10-year experience in providing takaful products, and explained the conditions for accepting Iranian students in the doctoral program of this institution and added that, currently, the Institute of Economic Banking and Insurance of Marmara University, Turkey, has about ten to fifteen doctoral students annually. It attracts from other foreign countries and it is possible that a percentage of this quota will be allocated to Iran within the framework of the conclusion of a joint agreement between the two groups.
