The meteor shower draws rally riders to Maragheh

The natural and celestial phenomenon of the Kappa Djajah meteor shower draws rally riders from all over the country to Maragheh to visit the historical observatory and other tourist places of this ancient city.

According to IRNA’s report on Monday, the Kapadjaja meteor shower is active from the end of August to the third of September, and its peak has been predicted by astronomers on August 27, when the center of the meteor shower is above the horizon in the constellation of the Dragon. There will be Kapadjaja meteors.

Due to the geographical location of Maragheh and the point of precipitation all night above the horizon, there is a possibility of seeing meteors in all dark hours of the night.

The Deputy Tourism Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of East Azerbaijan called the holding of a safari tour rally in Maragheh on the occasion of the Kappa Djajah meteor shower as one of the main priorities of this deputy and said: Considering the peak of the Kappa Djajjah meteor shower on Thursday 27 In August, National Safari Club of the East Azerbaijan Tourism and Motoring Center organized a safari tour rally in Maragheh city.

Alireza Bayramzadeh stated: This tourism tour rally will be held with the aim of promoting the culture of environmental protection and sustainable tourism, linking safari with astronomy and geotourism, and around holding this rally and watching the meteor shower, visit the fossil site, fossil museum and Maragheh observatory. It is also done with the presence of an astronomy expert and experts in the field of paleontology.

He continued: Those interested can contact the organizers until 25th of August to register for this tourism tour rally which will be held on 27th and 28th of August.
