The Minister of Communications and Information Technology denied the news of monitoring people’s information in messengers and said that people’s information in messengers is part of their privacy.
Recently, a news was published in the media that messengers must provide the information of their users to the government in the 7th Development Plan Bill, which has caused a lot of controversy. In this regard, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology denied the monitoring of users’ information in messengers.
Denying the news of monitoring people’s information in messengers
Issa Zarepour, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology in one of the native messengers, in response to one of the users regarding the news of the monitoring of users’ information, said, “This news that people’s information is being monitored by messengers is not true. According to the laws of the country as well as the fatwa of the Supreme Leader, the information of people in messengers is considered as part of their privacy.
