The Minister of Guidance announced the construction of Iran’s festival house at the groundbreaking ceremony of Teatarshahr
According to the Fars news agency’s theater reporter, the ceremony for the dedication of the theater complex was held in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the artistic deputy of the Ministry of Guidance and artists such as Dariush Arjamand, Iraj Rad, Kazem Hajirazad, Khosro Ahmadi, Reza Banafshekhah and Ismail Khalaj.
At the beginning of this ceremony, Javad Taheri said in a video message: “It’s been almost a year and a half since this issue became serious and the establishment of the theater’s privacy in cultural heritage was approved.”
He continued: The plan was concluded with a discussion with the cultural heritage and the city council, it was approved and reached the design stage. The plan was prepared by Mrs. Imtiai and approved by the cultural heritage. This plan is only for the protection of the artists and the audience of the Shahr Theater and is not supposed to be a barrier for pedestrians.
We designed Hareem Teatarshahr with the opinion of artists
Mahmoud Salari, the deputy of artistic affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, was the next person to come forward and said: “On this path, wherever we encountered problems, the minister came to our aid.”
He continued: Collecting the opinions of the artists and combining them with the opinions of the municipality and cultural heritage was a hard work that was done, and I hope that this will be done well with the plan that has come to fruition.
The artist should depend on the people, not the government
Then Dariush Arjamand came of age and said: I am surprised that I was invited to speak because I belong to the theater of my city and I am proud of it. I am happy that today this theater complex is going to be protected.
He continued: “Due to the crowded performances of the Shahr Theater, I only performed once in this collection and I hope that all the artists will be protected just as this collection is protected.”
Arjamand further said: I saw the design of Shahr Theater and it is a very good design, and this collection has come from the heart of Trajhi and is in line with it.
The artist further stated: I am grateful to the honorable minister and officials for implementing this project after a long time and I hope that this collection will really be the theater of Shahr and all the artists will perform in it.
He added: Why do we always think that we have to put our hands in the pockets of the government, the artist must attract the people. We must go to the people; The artist must get his salary from the people and the government is not supposed to provide everything for art.
At the end, Arjmand said: If we want to have valuable art, people should like us and we should not do something that the president and minister like.
We always tried to preserve the theater city
Iraj Rad was the next person of this ceremony to speak, he said at the beginning: Shahr Theater is a special place for all theater artists, this complex was built in 1946 and it was completed in 1951.
He continued: At first, this building was built for radio, and then it reached the Ministry of Culture. Strange stories happened to this building and we at the theater house tried not to damage it.
Referring to the Roudaki area plan, Rad said: “A very good thing was supposed to happen in this complex, and from Shahr Theater to Vahdat Hall, the Rudaki area will be converted and different theaters and art galleries will be built along this route.
He continued: “During the construction of the subway, we changed the route of the subway with meetings so that this hall would not be damaged. Later, other phases of this building were damaged and we prevented it.”
The chairman of the board of directors of the house of theater said: In addition to all these talks, we were always looking for the privacy of the theater city, many meetings were held and did not come to an end. Today, I am happy that we are finally in a place where this sanctuary is being built.
The country’s largest art collection for the festival house will be opened soon
Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, was the next one and said: I was in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for a while, and during my first visits to Shahr Theater, I encountered a request to create privacy for this collection.
He continued: This privacy was removed in Teatarshahr in 1368. To create privacy for this complex, there was a heritage issue and the municipality had to cooperate, and I thank you for your cooperation.
Esmaili added: privacy should be associated with the collection, I understand the reason for the complete lack of trust. My whole emphasis to the officials of the construction of this privacy was that this project should be done with the opinion of the artists themselves and step by step to advance the artists, and I am happy that today it came to fruition. The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance said: This collection is in the hands of artists and people, we come and go seasonally and this collection remains for the people of art.
He added: “Soon, the biggest art collection in Tehran will start its work and it will be a home for all Iranian festivals and it will have all the modern facilities in the heart of the east of Tehran.”
In the end, Esmaili noted: The year we are coming to the end of is the most prosperous year of culture and art in all eras, and all the governments are following so that we can take the most solid steps in the culture and art of the country.
