The need to establish a joint tourism room in the west of the country

“The establishment of a joint tourism chamber in the west of the country and the development of a five-year cooperation document that pursues the goals of developing tourism in the west of the country should be on the agenda of the target provinces as a necessary issue,” said the deputy for civil affairs of Ilam province.

“In order to advance the common goals, it is proposed that the provinces allocate part of their development credits to the tourism boom in the west of the country,” he added.

Ahmadi mentioned the importance of rural tourism as one of the special capacities of the region and said: “In these five provinces, with a four- to five-hour journey, you can experience a different climate from snow and cold to desert climbing. “It is unique in its kind.”

“Culturally and religiously, the western region also has a special richness that can be of special interest to tourists,” he continued.

In conclusion, the Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs of Ilam Governorate stated: “By increasing cooperation between the western provinces of the country, we can move in the direction that tourism development will change an important part of the region’s economic problems and employment.”

“More than 25 devices are influential in the tourism industry. If we want to solve tourism issues, these collections must be with us,” Abdul Malik Shanbehzadeh said in a speech.

The director general of cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts of Ilam province said, “In order for a foreign tourist to enter, we have to deal with it professionally based on the conditions we have.”

“The tourists who enter our country are mainly religious tourists, and these tourists are mostly Shiites whose destination is known,” he added.

“The main capacity of foreign tourists is to enter Iraq, which borders us, but unfortunately our borders have many problems that must be solved with proper planning to facilitate the entry of these tourists,” Shanbehzadeh said.

“Currently, Iraqi tourists are mostly entering the country individually and with the lowest returns,” he said.

Attention to the global registration of works, the formation of tourism committees in western provinces, marketing and advertising, education and investment prosperity were other issues mentioned by the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Ilam Province.

“In this direction, the private sector has the main job and the public sector must play a role as a facilitator,” Shanbehzadeh concluded, stressing that Western provinces must achieve their right to tourism.
