The need to set up a permanent handicraft market in Khosf



According to Aria Heritage’s report, quoting the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of South Khorasan, Hadi Shahverdi on Wednesday, June 25, referring to the two national emblem of Khosf weaving and precious and semi-precious stones of Khor, said: “The construction and restoration of a permanent bazaar in the castle should be done as soon as possible by providing national funds.”

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of South Khorasan promised to provide funding for the establishment of a museum of precious and semi-precious stones and celebrities and the development of weaving art in the city and said: “Attractors should be attracted, although the applicants should be examined in terms of financial investment power so that we do not face any problems in the middle of the project.”

Ali Salehi, in charge of cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts of Khosf city, referring to the credit limitations of the city, said: “So far, many efforts and letters have been made to allocate land and a tourist village to establish a handicrafts market, but unfortunately this has not been achieved.”

Referring to the acquisition of Khosf Castle in 1998, Salehi said: “The legal case of this castle is still open with the cooperative company, and one of the demands of the city’s artists, which is to create a handicraft market in this historic place, has remained unresolved.”

Babian said that due to lack of land, the city has not yet received a share of national and provincial funds for the construction of a permanent handicraft market. “And the country has not contributed to the market credits and the development of this art industry over the years.”

Salehi announced the launch of a handicraft house in the Tajr house of Khosf city in the near future and called for the special attention of the director general to solve a large part of the current problems in the handicrafts and tourism sector of the city.
