As mentioned earlier, the next generation SSD MP700 supports the PCIe Gen 5.0 standard. While the technical specifications of this product have not yet been shared by the manufacturer, they have published a picture of its performance.

Based on available results, the MP700 PCIe Gen 5 M.2 SSD has a read speed of 10,000 MB/s and a write speed of 9,500 MB/s (respectively). Also, it should be noted that it will vary depending on the capacity of the SSD.

Performance comparison of the new Corsair SSD compared to the current generation

According to the figures provided by the manufacturer, the read and write speeds of the MP700 SSD are 64% and 41% higher, respectively, compared to the current MP600 PRO XT model. Corsair’s new SSD drives may be compatible with Microsoft’s DirectStorage API and AMD’s Smart Access Storage technologies.

Finally, it should be noted that Ryzen 7000 processors and the AM5 platform will be officially introduced by AMD in the next month. As a result, more companies will soon unveil SSDs compatible with this platform.
