According to the Fars news agency, citing the information base of the Ports and Maritime Organization, Hossein Abbas Nejad, Director General of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Affairs, announced: the operation and start of the executive operations of 10 maritime and port projects of this province on Saturday, March 20, in the presence of Minister Mehrdad Bazarpash. Road and Urban Development, Ali Akbar Safaei, CEO of the Ports and Maritime Organization and a group of provincial officials will begin.

According to him, these 10 projects include 6 exploitation projects worth 19,32 billion Rials, three projects for the start of executive operations worth 21,729 billion Rials, and one equipment exploitation project worth 2,190 billion Rials.

The director of the Special Economic Zone of Shahid Rajaei Port, while explaining the details of these projects, pointed out three flagship projects ready for operation and said: with the presence of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development in Shahid Rajaei Port, the marine reference building and the new part of the third phase of Shahid Rajaei Port along with two suction machines in this The port is opened and put into operation.

Abbasnejad added: The country’s traffic control and maritime rescue department is located in this building, and most of the modern facilities and equipment used by knowledge-based companies have been designed and implemented.

He continued: Currently, the container capacity of Shahid Rajaei Port is 6 million TEUs per year, which will increase to eight million TEUs per year with the implementation of the third phase of the development plan of this port.

Director General of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Affairs also announced: The third phase of Shahid Rajaei port development plan includes three wharf posts and 51 hectares of coastal land using the most modern port construction technology and marine structures.

Abbasnejad mentioned the exploitation of the newly built Khamer port as one of the other significant projects that have a great impact on the development of mineral exports and the creation of employment and the prosperity of the coastal residents of this region.

Hormozgan province has 2,227 kilometers of water border and 14 main and important islands, and Shahid Rajaei port in this province also has a huge contribution to the development of sea transportation as one of the most important ports in the country.
