The head of Damavand Environmental Protection Department announced the accident of a car with a leopard in Damavand-Firouzkoh axis of Dilichai area.
According to Moj news agency, Naghi Mirzakarimi told the reporters: Last night, according to the phone report of the Jaban police station, regarding the accident of a passenger car with a leopard in Damavand axis to Firouzkoh, Delichai area, the matter is on the agenda of experts and environmentalists of this office. and the necessary arrangements were made with the General Department of Environmental Protection of Tehran province to send a wildlife rescue team to the region if needed.
He continued: After examining the scene and conducting investigations, it was found that a passing passenger car collided with a leopard that was trying to cross the Damavand-Firouzkoh road, but the damage to the animal was superficial and it moved away from the accident site.
Mirzakrimi added: The leopard stops for a few moments on the side of the mountain and leaves the place after the situation improves, and the leopard was not observed in the ongoing search, fortunately the damage to the animal was not severe and it had the ability to move. The activities of the rangers in the area are continuing so that resuscitation and treatment measures can be carried out if necessary.
