The presence of the Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage at the 17th UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Meeting/ Iran’s 6 joint files for global registration will be reviewed.



According to the reporter of Aria Heritage, the 17th meeting of the International Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage started on Monday, December 7, 1401, hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat. In this period, where Iran is present with six joint cases, Ali Darabi, Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage of the country, along with Mustafa Pourali, Director General of Antiquities Registration and Preservation and Restoration of Spiritual and Natural Heritage, participated. Also, Ahmad Paktachi, Iran’s ambassador to UNESCO, accompanies the Iranian delegation.

Silkworm breeding and traditional silk production for weaving in common with Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, Turkmen needlework art (Turkmen embroidery) in common with Turkmenistan, art of making and playing oud in common with Syria, Yalda/Cele in common with Afghanistan, art Making and playing the joint rabab with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and the joint Mehrgan ceremony with Tajikistan are six common files of Iran that will be reviewed for registration.

The 17th meeting of the International Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage will be held from November 28 to December 3, 2022 (equivalent to December 7 to December 12, 1401) in Rabat, Morocco.
