Among the actors of the film, Mohammad Hamzaei (director), Seyed Saber Emami (producer), Amir Mohammad Abdi (writer), Habib Khazaifar (composer), Amir Hossein Bayat, Shayan Darmipour, Arghwan Shabani and Parham Gholamlu were present in this meeting.

In this meeting, Mohammad Hamzaei, the director of the movie “Captain”, said: I am very happy to be at Fajr Film Festival again after 5 years. In these few months, I tried to think of stories that relate to people and depict social conditions. Until we started working with the Farabi Cinema Foundation and decided to work on this issue.

The director of the film said about the challenge of working with children in cinema: These children were great. Amir Hossein (the actor who played the role of Isa in the movie Captain) came from Mehrshahr Karaj every day for two whole months at two and a half and three in the morning and returned home at midnight and even lost a lot of weight and his effort was excellent. I always believe that the script is the basis of the film and the text can determine the location and details. To find child actors, we started from alleys and streets and even visited football fields. Until it occurred to me to find the child who played in the movie “Private Encounter”. Finally, we found Amir Hossein Bayat for the main role and started the production.

Amir Mohammad Abdi, the author of the film, continued: “When I wrote the script for “Captain”, I did not think about its believability. I didn’t have the opportunity to study in my life and everything that I put on paper is from lived experience and emotional bank.

Seyed Saber Emami, the producer of “Captain” said: I would like to say that the investor of this work is the Farabi Cinema Foundation. We have made a film about cancer and I suggest that we only discuss the topic of the film in this meeting.

Child actor Amirhossein Yayat, about how he got to know the children of the other actors in the film, said: I got to know all the children little by little during the make-up test. My dad asks what do you want us to do. I didn’t think we would become so many, then we saw that we became more and more. Gradually, we became friends like Paraneh Shayan and…we used to go to practice, the jokes were appropriate and I will not forget that they told me that if you want to progress, you must focus before the plan. I didn’t talk to anyone before the plans and everything went well.

The director continued: I didn’t have a realistic view of this issue and the film. If we had a purely realistic view, it would be impossible for children to be able to jump like this with cancer.

Mohammad Hamzaei added: We were constantly chatting with the writer during the pre-production stage and thinking a lot about each role. It was difficult for us to get these child actors in front of the camera.

Hamzai said about the tone of Koche and Bazari in the role of Isa: Isa has a character and a social position that his mother is not on top of him and his father is always at work and he is a bit self-made and this self-made can be seen in the tone and character of his film.
