The Prime Minister of Iraq issued an order to review the activities of the security institutions

According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani issued an order today (Friday) demanding the formation of a committee to review the activities of security institutions.
According to the official news agency of Iraq (WAA), in the text of Al-Sudani’s order, it is stated that the security system of Iraq has not witnessed any reforms since 2003 (the collapse of the Sada regime) and only temporary decisions have been taken according to security needs.
He added: “Today after achieving a great victory [علیه تروریسم] It’s time to revise the security institutions by reforming them.”
This committee will be formed under the chairmanship of Mohammad Al-Sudani, and as a result, it is supposed to divide the duties among several security institutions and make reforms in the mechanism of these institutions.
According to Iraqi media circles, the restructuring of the country’s security institutions, which includes the Joint Operations Command, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Intelligence Organization, the Anti-Terrorism Agency, the National Security Agency, the Military Intelligence Organization, the National Security Advisor and the Baghdad Operations Command, is one of the most important. The challenges facing the Sudanese government are considered.
“Fawzi al-Zubaidi”, an Iraqi security analyst, believes that the current security institutions in Iraq suffer from many problems, many of which can be attributed to the sectarian and nepotistic traditions that are rampant in the Iraqi political environment.
According to him, the commanders of these security institutions are mainly forced to implement the agenda of the parties and political groups that have appointed them to this position.
Issues such as inefficiency, differences between parallel institutions, dependence on internal and sometimes external flows, corruption and inaction are major issues that many Iraqi circles agree on. Al-Sudani also made one of his promises to review the structure of security institutions from the beginning of his prime ministership. stated
