The printing of new banknotes began with the portrait of Charles III

According to Iran Economist, citing Economic, the Bank of England (BoE) announced: Now, the British Pound Sterling banknotes with the image of King Charles III are being printed and they are expected to enter circulation by the middle of 2024.

The Central Bank has unveiled the design of King Charles notes and said that the king’s portrait will be on all four polymer notes of £5, £10, £20 and £50 and there will be no other changes to the existing banknote designs.

In line with royal guidance, to minimize the environmental and financial impact of this change, new notes will only be printed to replace worn notes and to meet any general increase in demand for notes.

Andrew Bailey, governor of the Bank of England, said: “I am very proud that the Bank is releasing our new banknote design featuring a portrait of King Charles III, and it is an important moment as the King’s image is the second monarch to appear on our banknote.

People will be able to use the new notes when they start circulating in 2024, Bailey said.
