He also emphasized: So far, about 80 to 85 percent of Mazandaran oranges, which are mainly novel types, have been harvested.
According to this official, in the nine months of this year, 107 thousand tons of oranges, 37 thousand tons of tangerines, 5 thousand tons of lemons, and including other citrus fruits, a total of 150 thousand tons of citrus fruits have been exported to other countries.
Jalili Moghaddam added: Citrus exports have earned about 57 million dollars for the country so far.
He emphasized that in the twelve months of last year, about 177,000 tons of citrus fruits with an approximate value of 66 million dollars were exported.
He stated that the reason for the growth of the country’s citrus production is the implementation of technical recommendations and optimal orchard management by gardeners and timely control of diseases and pests compared to previous years.
