The reaction of the manager of the national freestyle wrestling team to the impact of international tournaments – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr correspondent, one of the goals of the Wrestling Federation trustees and the technical staff of the national freestyle wrestling team is to plan to guide the young contenders to reach the senior national team. In this regard, the view of the officials of this field is to hold or participate in tournaments in order to identify talents.

In this regard, Mohsen Kaveh, the technical director of the national freestyle wrestling teams, stated: The more foreign teams participate in tournaments such as the Shahid Hasheminejad tournament, which was recently hosted by the Mazenis, the higher the level of competition. I hope that in the coming years, with the consultations that are taking place, foreign teams will come to our country’s tournaments with a more complete composition. This can help increase the quality of the competition and pave the way for the growth of young wrestlers.

Kaveh added: “There is a well-written and comprehensive plan for young wrestlers, and one of the parts of these plans is to participate in various tournaments.” In this regard, on May 6 and 7, we witnessed the holding of the International Youth Freestyle Wrestling Cup hosted by Behshahr, Mazandaran Province. In this tournament, which was held under the name of Shahid Hasheminejad Cup, the top wrestlers of the national championship entered a closer and more quality competitive environment.

He continued: “These competitions were held at a higher quality level than the national championship, and young wrestlers were highly motivated to fight due to the high level of competition.” Among the wrestlers, a few were technically good, and identifying such talents is a good thing for the country’s wrestling.

The director of the national freestyle wrestling teams also mentioned the holding of the Abdullah Movahed Cup: “The first international freestyle wrestling competitions of the Abdullah Movahed Youth Cup will be held on May 10 and 11 in Amol.” Competitions that can be a good benchmark for basic wrestlers. Holding such tournaments is aimed at identifying talents and helping infants and teenagers to improve their technical quality.

In the end, Kaveh strongly opposed the weight loss of basic wrestlers, noting: “We will deal with weight loss in the junior and adolescent categories without any compliments.” Our main goal is to win medals and honor in the adult team, and it is not worth it for a wrestler in the junior category to win the world championship by losing 7 or 8 kg. Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness.
