The release of four operating system updates for Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 4

Samsung introduced foldable phones at its Unpacked 2022 event Galaxy Z Fold 4 And Z Flip 4announced that both of them four years will receive a software update.

The list of Galaxy devices eligible for the four major Android updates (and the One UI skin) is already quite large, and includes devices such as the Galaxy S22 and S21 series and the Galaxy A73, along with the previous generation of Korean foldable phones. Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 4 support Android 16

Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 phones are currently running Android 12 (Z Fold 4 Android 12L) at launch, and according to this news, up to four years and the time of release Android 16 (probably 2026) will receive a firmware update.

Regarding security updates, both new phones will receive updates until 2027, and at least in the first three years of release, these security updates will probably be released every month.

In the last few years, Samsung has consistently shown that it has the best performance in the Android market when it comes to software support. For a long time, almost all of the company’s phones received two major OS upgrades, until Samsung finally switched to three major updates for all of its flagships and some mid-range phones. Now this period has increased to four years.
