The release of the crew of the Greek oil tanker after the delivery of Iranian oil – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr news agency, some sources announced the release of the crew of Greek oil tankers seized in Iran. Announcing this news, the French news agency said that the 49 crew members of the oil tanker seized in Iran were detained in the Persian Gulf for 100 days, and now Tehran has given the green light for the release of the crews of two Greek oil tankers on Monday.
Also, Bloomberg, citing a Greek commercial marine group, announced on Sunday that Iran will release the crews of two Greek oil tankers that were seized in May. In this connection, it has been said that the Union of Merchant Sailors of Greece announced on its website that Iran has agreed to release the crew of the oil tankers after the recent visit of a Greek delegation. The stranded crew members will immediately return to their countries of origin starting Monday, the group said.
Two Greek oil tankers were seized in Iran in response to a similar action by the Greeks. Greek authorities, in coordination with their American counterparts, stopped an Iranian oil tanker named Lana in June this year and confiscated its cargo. Then Iran responded to this Greek action by seizing the Greek oil tanker in the waters of the Persian Gulf.
However, after Iran reacted, a Greek court overturned the seizure of the Iranian oil tanker Lana, and the Greek Supreme Court upheld the ruling. After that, Greek sources said the oil seized by the Greek authorities was also returned to the tanker Lana in late August.
Now it seems that the release of the crew of the Greek oil tankers took place after the return of the Iranian oil cargo. The 49 crew of the Greek oil tanker Delta and ten Greek and one Cypriot sailors were detained in the Persian Gulf for almost 100 days.
News sources have also said that after returning 100,000 tons of oil that was initially seized by Greek authorities at the request of the United States, Tehran has allowed the release of the Greek crew.
Despite the announcement of this news by foreign English and Western media, this news has not yet been confirmed in Iran by official sources.
