The removal of posts related to Sardar Soleimani is illegal and unjust

“There is a strange contradiction between reality and the claims of the owners of international platforms about respecting the rights of users,” Issa Zarepour wrote in an Instagram note, IRNA reported on Monday. On the one hand, they claim to adhere to international laws on freedom of expression and respect for users’ rights, and on the other hand, they are influenced by the anti-Iranian policies of the United States and Israel and censor and delete images and content of Iranian users and those interested in Iran.
He stressed: This behavior is neither legally nor morally acceptable. An example of this is evident in the removal and censorship of images and content related to Sardar Delha, Haj Qasem Soleimani; The martyred commander who cut off the shadow of the ISIS terrorist group from the Middle East and was known for his chivalry and morals.
The Minister of Communications added: “I do not consider it permissible to remain silent in the face of this illegal and unjust policy.” For this reason, I asked the Director General of Legal Affairs of the Ministry to write letters to the managers of Meta (Facebook) and Instagram platforms, asking them to end this widespread censorship and compensate the violated rights of Iranian and non-Iranian users who love Sardar Delha. This letter was sent today and we are waiting for the official response of the recipients.
