The rendering of iPhone 16 prototypes was revealed; Camera similar to iPhone 12 or iPhone X?

Based on the renderings of the three iPhone 16 prototypes, it is possible that the regular model of this series will have changes in design next year. These images show the iPhone 16 cameras in two modes. In the first case, the iPhone 16’s cameras are vertically arranged, almost the same as the iPhone 12, and the other is similar to the iPhone X, where the camera is located in a capsule housing.

According to A new reportiPhone 16 is being tested with two different designs for the camera bump. One design is similar to the current iPhone 15’s camera bump, but the lenses are arranged vertically instead of diagonally. Of course, this report suggests that Apple may consider another design similar to iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone X; In the second design, the cameras are placed in an integrated vertical projection. Compared to the iPhone 15, the location of the LED flash is the same in both designs, which shows that Apple does not intend to change the position of the flash.

iPhone 16 renders and possible specifications

The yellow rendered iPhone has an action button, an integrated volume rocker, and an iPhone X-style camera bump, the pink iPhone has an action button and separate volume buttons, and the black iPhone has a larger action button and a new capacitive button at the bottom.

The integrated volume button on the iPhone 16 is likely part of the canceled Bongo project that was originally intended for the iPhone 15 Pro. This integrated button provided users with touch functionality, but it was canceled earlier this year due to technical issues. After canceling the Bongo project, Apple reverted to mechanical buttons.

The size of the action button is different in different configurations of these renders. Some designs and prototypes have a much larger action button, which was created as part of the Atlas project in an effort to change the action button from mechanical to capacitive.

Apple is also testing a new button on the right side of the iPhone 16. The iPhone 16 is expected to feature an all-new capacitive button developed in-house under the codename Project Nova. The information obtained shows that this button, with the possible name of Capture, may be used in photography.

Based on the renderings, the front panel of the iPhone 16 does not change significantly and still uses Dynamic Island. The base model of the iPhone 16 is expected to have the same screen as the previous generation. Like the iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 will also have a USB-C port at the bottom of the device.
