Russia opposed the cancellation of Iran’s participation in the Women’s Commission

In this meeting, the representative of Russia said in opposition to removing Iran from the Women’s Commission: Have you read the definition of the United Nations in this regard? Our Western colleagues are used to destroying efficient international structures. The drafters of the resolution to remove Iran from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women should take a look at their records of human rights violations. The membership of France and England in this commission should be investigated due to the harsh treatment of women.

Venezuela’s representative: the resolution proposed by the US is hostile / Washington’s resolution imposes a dictatorship

The representative of Venezuela stated in the meeting to review the status of Iran in the Commission on the Status of Women: the resolution proposed by the United States to expel Iran from the Commission on the Status of Women is hostile. We want to speak in support of the UN Charter. The principle of multilateralism is one of the foundations of the United Nations and should not be undermined. If political power overcomes the rule of law, it will not only weaken the international system; It also allows the United Nations to regress. In our opinion, a country that is a legitimate member of international organizations cannot be expelled from this commission. Because all the countries of the United Nations have agreed on the membership of that country. If a country is to be expelled, other steps must be considered. We ask all the members of the Women’s Commission to prevent a dangerous heresy. This meeting establishes a dangerous tradition for autocracy to gain power. These countries want to impose their political will on others. America’s resolution imposes a dictatorship.

America’s ridiculous anti-Iranian meeting started a few hours ago to cancel Tehran’s membership in the United Nations Women’s Commission under the pretext of supporting Iranian women and aligning with rioters and disrupting people’s security. Washington presented the draft political resolution to end Iran’s membership in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York to make a decision on this matter.

This meeting was chaired by Lachezara Stoeva, the head of the United Nations Socio-Economic Council and the ambassador and representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations.

It should be noted that the political decision of this institution is against Iran, despite Saudi Arabia’s completely negative view of women, such an institution has not excluded Riyadh from its membership until now, or after the dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi in the consulate of this country. In Istanbul in 2018, on the direct order of “Mohammed bin Salman”, no strong decision was taken against Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, such institutions have not taken a strong and deterrent position against the countless crimes committed by the Zionist regime against women and children in the occupied territories during several decades of aggression and occupation by this regime.
